Overmoulding protects cables and assemblies
The Werner Wirth overmoulding machine operates with both cable preparation and PCB assembly equipment, moulding strain reliefs, connector shells and grommets onto electrical cables.
Automatic crimper handles ultrafine wires
The Komax Gamma 255 is a fully automatic crimping machine for top-quality processing of ultrafine wires.
The tower can prepare a complete batch with one mouse click, and each component can be stored or taken out in less than 5 seconds.
Storage with the SMD tower is easy and secure, and saves a lot of search and setup time.
Each reel and tray is marked with a barcode.
The operator puts the container on the input/output plate, where the barcode and dimensions are automatically checked.
A robot picks up the container and stores it to a free place within the tower.
Components that are moved frequently will be positioned in locations with the shortest access time.
The sophisticated control software handles all storage tasks.
The software monitors the stock and ensures the use of the first-in/first-out principle.
Each component can be assigned to a moisture class (IPC-Standard 033A) and the allowable operation time in a wet surrounding is controlled.
The software offers a variety of statistical functions and can include external storage places.
Within the SMD tower, sensitive components are completely secure.
The tower offers full electrostatic protection; and the temperature and moisture inside are controlled as well.
The CSS4050 SMD tower can be used in low or high volume production.
This automatic storage system is particularly useful when batch sizes are low, and changeovers very frequent, as it saves time and ensures that components are easy to locate.
The storage system can be expanded with additional SMD towers at any time.
The database can be connected to existing ERP systems or to Essemtec's MIS optimisation setup software.
"The new Essemtec CSS4050 SMD tower will be invaluable to manufacturers wishing to store a high volume of SMDs safely", said Mike Rapson, Managing Director at Contax.
"For manufacturers producing many different types of product, it eliminates all the search problems, and it also enables them to be stored in a very small, compact space", he said.
