Stencils claim exceptional paste volume
control
Alphaform electroformed stencils are designed for ultra-fine-pitch tolerances in surface mount and microelectronics applications, and for high volume assemblers.
Alphaform electroformed stencils from Cookson Electronics are manufactured from extra-hard nickel (approximately 600VH) using state-of-the-art equipment, for assemblers working with ultra-fine-pitch tolerances in surface mount and microelectronics applications, and for high volume assemblers Alphaform stencils offer exceptional print limits (more than 25um aperture size/150um stencil), and thanks to perfect flatness and sharp apertures allow high precision printing without under stencil bleed

Lead-free range aims for wider process window
Cookson Electronics has focused on developing products with a greater process tolerance than previous generations of lead-free solder paste, wave solder flux, cored wire and wave solder bar.
Solder waste requires special procedures
Cookson Electronics is the UK's largest solder reclaim operation and is highly experienced in the reprocessing of solder dross, paste etc, including meeting all legal and environmental obligations.
The stencils are designed to deliver exceptional paste volume control resulting in high yields, with low cleaning requirements thanks to a smooth, "mirror-like" board side surface, whereas the squeegee side surface texture promotes ideal grip and solder paste roll for defect-free printing.
The stencils are manufactured in a purpose built facility using the latest electroforming technology - including clean room operating conditions with air purity levels of class 1000ppm, helping eliminate particle contamination of stencil masks.
This, together with high resolution (10,000dot/in) photoplotters and collimated light exposure units (which overcome the random light patterns typical of normal UV exposure techniques affecting stencil accuracy), provide a precise transfer environment for customers' direct CAD data to the electroformed stencil manufacturing process.
The stencils have a nominal tolerance of +/-3um, with positional tolerance of +/-0.1%, and the electroformed foils are suitable for use mounted in standard frames or with proprietary tensioning systems such as Alpha Tetra. Request a free brochure from Cookson Electronics ...
In addition to its electroformed stencil operation in Belgium, Cookson Electronics has laser cut stencil manufacturing facilities in the UK, Ireland, France and Hungary.
