For applications requiring proprietary or custom protocol decoders, it allows users to independently develop their own protocol decoders (using a Microsoft C compiler) which are then automatically loaded when PacketView Pro starts.
It works with any packet driver or ODI driver that supports promiscuous mode and it fully decodes encapsulated protocols like IP tunnelling and L2TP.
The system supports Ethernet, asynchronous PPP and synchronous (ISDN) PPP, Token Ring, Arcnet and FDDI, and runs on a standard PC with most network interface cards.
