Finance and EDA industry veteran Brooke Seawell has joined the CoWare Board of Directors.
Seawell will also lead the Board Audit Committee.
Seawell, a venture partner with Technology Crossover Ventures of Palo Alto, California, joins the board as an independent director and financial expert.
"Brooke brings a great amount of financial and EDA industry expertise to his position as a CoWare board member", said Alan Naumann, President and CEO, CoWare.
"After taking EDA industry leader Synopsys from $30 million to $500 million in six years and leading its IPO in 1992 - and helping many other companies achieve similar successes - we are confident that Brooke can help advise CoWare through the next stages of its growth".
"Brooke's wealth of experience and knowledge of financial and operational management and corporate governance make him a great addition to the board".
According to Seawell: "I have maintained a close connection with CoWare after being an early board member".
"I am delighted to return at such an exciting time for the company, as it is one of the largest privately held EDA companies, it leads the electronic system level design market, and it continues to focus on growth through prudent business and technology investments".
Seawell is a venture partner with Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV).
He joined TCV in February of 2000, focusing on software and semiconductor companies.
Prior to TCV, Seawell spent 25 years serving in financial and operational positions at several high-tech companies.
As Executive Vice President of NetDynamics, Seawell helped the company build the leading position in enterprise network application server software and he successfully negotiated its acquisition by Sun Microsystems in 1998.
During his tenure as Senior Vice President - Finance and Operations and CFO of Synopsys, Seawell helped the company achieve a market capitalisation over $2.0 billion.
Previously, he was Vice President - Finance and Production and CFO at Weitek, a semiconductor company, which he took public in 1988.
In 1979, he cofounded and was CFO of Southwall Technologies.
He is currently on the Board of Directors of publicly traded Informatica Corp and Nvidia Corp.
