Looking forward to the event, EuMW 2002 chairman Mario Orefice said, "Speakers from around the world will present around 450 papers in total at EuMW2002, creating a unique opportunity for engineers and researchers to gain insights into important new technologies.
The conference centre of the Fiera di Milano, which is well connected to Milan's airport and city centre, provides an excellent venue with superb conference and exhibition facilities capable of showcasing the many aspects of EuMW in one convenient location".
In addition to the conference sessions and EuMW exhibition, expected to be attended by over 3000 international delegates, the event will also include a series of focus sessions, short-courses and workshops.

This diversity will allow even more opportunities to exchange information, gain hands-on experience and come away with new insights from these five days in Milan.
Helen Duncan, technical director of European Microwave Week, echoed Orefice's anticipation.
"This is a truly international event, with speakers from five continents, and nations as far apart as New Zealand, South Africa and Iran, as well as Korea, Japan, North America, China and throughout Europe", she said.
"With the industry poised as it is, EuMW promises to be the most important forum for technical and strategic information anywhere in the world this year.
All those who expect to be active in the 21st century wireless arena should book their place at EuMW 2002, if they have not already done so".
The EuMC, to be chaired by Mario Orefice of the Politecnico di Torino, includes more than 270 papers covering the latest techniques and components, materials technologies, antennas, radar systems and applications.
World experts will also discuss emerging topics and technologies at a series of focus sessions, and keynote addresses will give recent information on the state of the art and perspectives on the new microwave technologies.
The Gallium Arsenide Application Symposium has established itself as the most important event connecting researchers in GaAs, which underpins much development in microwave communications.
GAAS 2002, as an integral part of European Microwave Week, will again be addressed by very highly regarded experts in the field, and there will be several joint sessions with EuMC and ECWT that highlight the common ground between all three elements of European Microwave Week.
GASS 2002 will also feature an exciting keynote address explaining nanotechnology in microwave applications, presented by speakers from IEMN University of Lille, France.
The ECWT program contains 10 regular sessions, a poster session and four panel and focus sessions, and invited lecturers will present a view of the status of present wireless systems and technologies, as well as an assessment of evolutionary directions.
Topics will include UMTS launch and evolution, technologies beyond 3G, broadband multimedia services via satellite and high altitude telecom platforms.
European Microwave Week will take place at Fiera Milano Congressi, Milan, from 23rd to 27th September.
The European Microwave Week website contains full details of the conference and exhibition programs, speakers, registration, travel and accommodation arrangements, as well as a list of chairpeople and technical steering committee members.
