New high-throughput, low-latency host bus adapters from Crellon Microsystems enable high-speed Fibre Channel interfaces for servers, workstations and embedded computers.

New high-throughput, low-latency host bus adapters from Crellon Microsystems enable high speed Fibre Channel interfaces for servers, workstations and embedded computers in real-time networking and storage area network (SAN) applications The new host bus adapters are built by SBS Technologies and join the range of Fibre Channel products offered by Crellon Microsystems, including 1Gbit/s, 64bit/66MHz PCI, CompactPCI and PCI mezzanine card (PMC) HBAs

Each new board includes RemoteDMA and small computer system interface (SCSI) target protocols, and an integrated three-port hub for dual-port HBAs with industry-standard technology, creating a high performance family of Fibre Channel interfaces.

There are 15 new boards in total.

Three of these feature a single copper HSSDC port plus one multimode fibre-optic port, while six alternative models offer a single fibre-optic or copper HSSDC port.

Six more variants include single-mode fibre-optic transceivers.

These latest additions bring the total number of HBAs available to 21, to satisfy a wide range of interfacing requirements.

The three copper/fibre dual-ported HBAs have two ports connected to the QLogic ISP2200A PCI to Fibre Channel chipset through an integrated three-port hub.

This port combination allows cable media to be mixed on a single HBA.

The six single-port HBAs that have either one copper HSSDC port or one multimode fibre-optic port support both RemoteDMA and SCSI target drivers for peer-to-peer communications while offering a lower price point for customers requiring only a single port.

The six HBAs with single mode fibre-optic transceivers include an extended depth receive buffer of 128Kbyte and can transmit data up to 10km.

Each board includes software drivers for Solaris, Linux, Windows NT, VxWorks and LynxOS.
