Embedded controller allows direct access to ATM
The Interphase 4531, available in the UK from Crellon Microsystems, allows system integrators to access the ATM backbone without requiring an external CSU/DSU.
Embedded motherboard configured for connectivity
The PATX3070 Pentium-class motherboard, now available from Crellon Microsystems, combines AGP graphics capability with a range of powerful interfaces.
Powerful onboard I/Os include USB, IrDA and AC97 ports.
And there are many PC-derived interfaces that simplify embedded design in a wide range of applications.
All processor options are based on the Intel Tualatin core, which has double the onboard cache of earlier Pentium III and Celeron CPUs.
Up to 512Kbyte cache in the Pentium III, or 256Kbyte in Celeron variants, significantly increases processing throughput per cycle.
The 700 series SBCs also feature the Via Twister-T chipset, 133MHz Pentium III or 100MHz Celeron front side bus, and standard PC-compatible DMA, interrupt controllers and timers.
Common PC interfaces include 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet, HDD and FDD, with a CompactFlash Type II socket supporting up to 1Gbyte solid state disk.
KVM capabilities are enhanced by the AGP 4x video controller with flat panel support for TFT and STN LCD, with digital flat panel support through onboard LVDS connectors.
A PC/104-Plus bus provides full PCI and ISA expansion capability.
System monitoring features include thermal monitoring and control, and power failure alert.
There is also a battery-backed real time clock and watchdog timer.
The new 700 series Little Board SBCs support up to 1Gbyte SDRAM as part of a unified memory architecture that also makes up to 32Mbyte of video memory available.
512bit of configuration EEPROM is also available for OEM use.
Software support packages for popular operating systems are available from Crellon Microsystems technical support, and the 700 series SBCs also come with Award-6 ROM-BIOS featuring Ampro enhancements.
Board dimensions are EBX compliant, measuring 146 x 203mm, and standard operating temperature range is 0 to +70C.
Extended operation is also possible, from -40 to +85C with forced-air cooling or additional external heatsink.
