Crellon Microsystems is now offering a combination of low thermal profile and high performance processors on the Motorola MCPN905 CompactPCI family of blades This combination of features makes the blades ideal to address compute intensive applications such as call processing engines, gateway controllers and administration complexes interfacing to a central office where greater workload handling and cost effective solutions are required

High performance processors are key in these applications and the MCPN905 features make it especially well suited for the job.

At the heart of the MCPN905 is a 1.0GHz PowerPC MPC7457 processor with Altivec technology for peak performance, up to1.5Gbyte of DDR memory with ECC protection and 1Mbyte of L3 cache.

As well as the dual gigabit Ethernet PICMG 2.16 interface, there is also a third gigabit Ethernet interface for increased connectivity.

The MCPN905 also supports two PMC sites for maximum I/O expansion with PCI-X performance at speed up to 133MHz.

These allow further I/O expansion or the addition of PrPMC offload engines to boost capabilities even further.
