Acal Microsystems now has two RoHS-compliant CompactPCI Intel Pentium M system host single board computers available.

The Adlink Technology boards, cPCI-6841 single slot (4TE/HP) and cPCI-6842 dual slot (8TE/HP) are both 6U form factor.

Both support Intel Pentium M/Celeron M series processors from 600MHz to 1.8GHz.

Other features common to both boards include high performance integrated graphics courtesy of the Intel 855GME chipset with ICH4, plus dual Gigabit Ethernet ports using the Intel 82541 which support the front panel I/O.

The cPCI-6842 has a DB-9 serial port, printer port, a second USB 2.0 front panel port, a second COM port and an optional PMC-8631 Ultra-320 SCSI card, all in addition to those on the cPCI-6841.

Instead of the standard CompactFlash socket of the 6841, he cPCI-6842 has a CompactFlash card slot giving the undoubted advantage of being hot swappable.

As 32bit, 33MHz CompactPCI system boards, both the cPCI-6841 and 6842 series' versatile I/O advantages are best for high end industrial control, automation, nontelecomms computers and mission critical applications.
