Single-card LVDT/RVDT to digital convertor
The 73LD4 is an LVDT/RVDT to digital convertor on a PC104 card.
Acal Microsystems has launched an LVDT/RVDT to digital convertor on a PC104 card.
Designated 73LD4, this PC104 DSP based, stack-through module offers six independent, transformer isolated, programmable LVDT/RVDT tracking convertor measurement channels, each with 16bit resolution.
Each channel has an accuracy of +/- 0.025%, accurate digital velocity output, differential incremental encoder (A and B) outputs with programmable resolution and a zero degree marker pulse.
The module has a self calibrating facility which does not require it to be removed for calibration; continuous background testing with excitation and signal loss detection and an optional programmable excitation reference supply for each channel.
The design requires only a single +5V DC power supply, operates over a frequency range of 360Hz to 10KHz and has autoranging input between 2 and 28 V RMS.
Each unit includes two banks of eight (16 total) digital input / output channels - programmable for each bank with a latch feature for reading all channels simultaneously.
Additionally, each channel can be programmed for two, three or four-wire inputs.
The board can be supplied as an option with a reference generator for the LVDT/RVDT.
The 73LD4 provides continuous background built-in test (BIT) on all functions and channels, including reference and signal loss detection and is completely transparent to the user, needs no programming and does not interfere with the normal operation of the card.
