Colin Maclellan is joining CSI Wireless as Senior Vice President and General Manager of CSI's Wireless Business Unit Maclellan will be responsible for all functional areas of CSI's Wireless Business Unit, and will also be a member of the CSI Wireless Executive Management Committee

Maclellan comes to CSI Wireless from Nortel Networks, where he was employed for 16 years.

Most recently, he held the position of Vice-President Wireless Internet Operations.

He led a team of professionals in Canada, the USA, France and Ireland that managed Nortel's new-product introduction teams and strategic manufacturing activities for wireless products globally.

Maclellan has held other executive positions at Nortel, including Vice President of Nortel's Calgary operations - responsible for 2800 employees, and a multi-billion dollar revenue base that virtually doubled during his tenure.

He has strong wireless experience, having been responsible for Nortel's base station manufacturing activities for TDMA and CDMA technologies, having worked with the Nortel GSM team in France, and most recently, having led the operations activities for the introduction of UMTS.

His Calgary team was also responsible for manufacturing Nortel's fixed wireless products, as well as its point-to-multipoint broadband wireless offering.

Maclellan developed a strong track record at Nortel in quality management and in rapidly increasing new product manufacturing to meet significant customer deployment needs.

He has been trained in ISO, Six Sigma and Malcolm Baldrige quality elements, and was responsible for significant improvements in both in-process and in-service defect rates for several Nortel product lines.

In bringing new products to market, Maclellan was responsible for the successful launch and volume ramp-up of several key wireless products including Nortel's CDMA basestation products and the latest generations of Nortel's TDMA radio platforms.

He also has solid international experience, having successfully led Nortel's efforts to establish wireless manufacturing capabilities in its China joint-venture, and having led a successful Nortel drive to begin manufacturing operations in Brasil.

"Colin is our ideal choice to help lead CSI Wireless to its next level of development and well into the future", said Stephen Verhoeff, CSI's President and CEO.

"We enthusiastically welcome his experience in leading world-class technology operations, in developing and executing strategic plans with global perspectives, in bringing new products to market, in assembling and motivating highly professional teams of employees, and in implementing organisational processes and systems that significantly improve quality standards and overall performance".
