CSI Wireless has received its first major purchase order for its new line of Vector GPS heading sensors.

CSI Wireless has received its first major purchase order for its new line of Vector GPS heading sensors.

The sensors enable users to maintain very accurate headings at much less than the cost of traditional gyro compasses or competing GPS systems.

Marport ehf is buying a mix of Vector Pro, Vector Lite and Vector Sensor products valued at $2 million.

Marport ehf, a global manufacturer and supplier of marine sensor technology, will market private-label versions of the Vector products through its manufacturing and worldwide dealer network.

Known as CompassPoint, they will be sold primarily in the commercial marine market, including fishing.

"After carefully evaluating all of the best heading products available today, we concluded the Vector line is markedly superior", said Marport ehf's Managing Director Oskar Axelsson.

"It offers us and our customers outstanding performance and ease of use, plus maintenance-free technology and very competitive pricing".

CompassPoint is designed to provide marine navigation systems with reliable, accurate heading and positioning information.

The unit can also be used as a compass sensor for repeaters, radars, electronic chart systems, AIS, autopilots, and satellite communicators, including those for television and high-speed data.

"Marport's enthusiasm for our Vector product line - which represents an entirely new core technology for us - is very exciting", Stephen Verhoeff, CSI Wireless' President and CEO.

"This is the first major purchase order that we have received for the Vector since we began developing it a year ago.

We are confident there will be more".

The Vector line is designed and built for marine users, and for the "machine control" market - including agriculture, heavy construction equipment, mining equipment, cranes, and any other equipment and industries for which very accurate headings are essential.
