A new version of the market leading time domain 3D EM simulator CST Microwave Studio is now shipping to customers Users can benefit from a major redesign in the architecture and substantial new functionality in CST Microwave Studio 2006

The most significant change is the use of the CST Design Environment as a common access point to CST's solver technology.

Structures are presented in 3D and schematic views and the comparison of models and co-simulation has been facilitated by a new multiple-document interface.

"We believe that the release of CST Microwave Studio 2006 marks a key breakthrough in simulation technology".

"It is the culmination of many years of research and development into the most efficient and accurate computational solutions to 3D electromagnetic problems", said Jonathan Oakley, VP, Sales and Support, CST of America.

"An unrivalled time domain solver, a state of the art frequency domain solver and an even more powerful CAD interface combine to increase the design throughput of microwave, RF, SI and EMC engineers".

Other new features include: easy coupling of EM with circuit and thermal analysis in one tool; automated cosimulation with Agilent Technologies' Advanced Design System; tetrahedral frequency domain solver completed; improved interface with Cadence Allegro; new PBA meshing algorithm, especially robust for highly complex imports; dispersive materials' tabular entry of properties; JEDEC compliant automated bond wire creation; a new distributed computing scheme minimises data transfer and improves network error tolerance; and new postprocessing features, including far-field over lossy ground, a new Spice extraction scheme and average plots.

"CST Studio Suite 2006 facilitates the simulation of coupled problems including all kinds of electromagnetic and thermal analysis in an unprecedented way", commented Eiji Tanabe, President of AET Japan.

"The CST tool is truly unique and undoubtedly the most complete 3D EM simulation package on the market".
