Celestica has joined DOSA, the Distributed-Power Open Standards Alliance, an industry alliance formed in February 2004.

Celestica has joined DOSA, the Distributed-Power Open Standards Alliance, an industry alliance formed in February 2004 Founded by Tyco Electronics Power Systems and SynQor, DOSA's mandate is to establish standards over a broad range of power convertor form factors, pinouts, feature sets and functionality for both nonisolated point-of-load (POL) and isolated applications, including intermediate bus convertors

As a new member of DOSA, Celestica Power Systems is developing its Volant Series that will be DOSA compatible.

These nonisolated POL convertors offer OEMs cost effective solutions for telecommunications and high-end computing applications in industry standard pinouts and feature sets.

In addition to developing the DOSA standard sixteenth-brick, Celestica will also continue to market and support its new high density S-Class isolated DC/DC convertor, which encompasses a smaller footprint (1.1 x 0.9in).

By offering both solutions to the market, Celestica can continue to provide a broad spectrum of innovative solutions for the varying and growing design requirements of OEMs.

"We are excited to be part of DOSA and look forward to collaborating with leading power supply manufacturers in the development of compatible and competitive products that meet customer needs", said Chris Stratas, General Manager, Celestica Power Systems.

"By including DOSA standard products in our product portfolio, we are continuing to provide our customers with a broadening range of solutions and multiple sourcing options".

In addition to participating in standard product development, Celestica Power Systems also plans to bring other new ideas to DOSA, to further establish standards such as standardising thermal derating methodologies.
