The LokDown SCA2 receptacle was developed in response to the industry's need for a more secure SCA2 interconnect system.

The LokDown SCA2 receptacle was developed in response to the industry's need for a more secure SCA2 interconnect system Circuit Assembly took on the challenge and designed the solution to pull force and stress transfer challenges

The LokDown system provides mechanical fasteners integrated into the insulator to prevent lateral, vertical and rotational movement of the insulator, minimising the potential for the rocking action from high torque drive trays and racks.

The mechanical location and retention of the SCA2 insulator also reduces the potential for receptacle misalignment.

In addition, the fastening system uses the existing board lock hole pattern and size on the PCB for convenient "drop-in" replacement to existing designs without redesign or modification.

These robust receptacles conform to the physical standard form factor for extended-height SCA2 receptacles, while providing a more secure SCA2 interconnect to assure signal integrity and enhance data storage reliability.

As is the standard for all Circuit Assembly SCA2 receptacles, these newly developed SCA2 receptacles are available in both the 80- and the 40-pin counts, which support the SCSI-3 protocol and the Fibre Channel industry standard, respectively.

All of CA's SCA2 receptacles consist of staggered contact heights to enable hot-plugging.

Additionally, alignment guides on both ends of the SCA2 receptacles permit blind mateability.

Other Circuit Assembly SCA2 connector configurations include the standard-height through-hole and compliant pin, extended-height through-hole and compliant pin receptacles, as well as the through-hole and compliant pin plugs.
