The Curtis "package" consists of a 1210-2201 speed controller for smooth easy speed over varied terrain and inclines; a tiller head and harness for operation control and steering; plus supporting 1604CS battery chargers to revive the power source as and when indicated.
Mailing equipment specialist Envosort brands the overall product as the unique GTB3 Electric Trolley - and it has especially proved to have multiple benefits within the NHS.
A typical example being for the postal system within Northampton General Hospital.
With 3500 personnel to reach, and, a central corridor three-quarters of a mile long, the traditional "manual" trolleys had proved to be a strain, in every sense of the word.
Now the innovative electric version has made the postal operation easier, quicker and safer.
Notable features include controllable speed of up to 5mph, forward and reverse direction, key activation and electronic brakes - not to mention a "diamond" layout of the wheels for excellent handling and turning.
Dave Parry is the Manager responsible for this equipment, and as he observes "we have had health and safety situations with the unpowered trolley, but that is now a thing of the past".
"The electric design can take all manner of larger, heavier loads, it copes easily with slopes and it even has a cover for exterior use".
"The postal staff are delighted and proud of their new acquisition".
"I don't know how we coped without it".
The Envosort GTB3 measures 1590mm (h) x 600mm (w) x 1000mm (h), with various configurations of baskets and compartments available to suit.
