Hanley takes the chair
Cavendish Kinetics has appointed Dr Peter R Hanley as its Chairman.

Dr Hanley was formerly President of top-10 semiconductor equipment supplier, Novellus Systems.
Dr Hanley, who holds a PhD in applied physics, joins the Cavendish board as the first wave of customer and partner negotiations are in full swing.
The company's Nanomech process and device IP will be used in a variety of embedded memory markets including automotive, smart-card and RFID.
Hanley will retain a part time advisory role at Novellus as well as directorships of other semiconductor technology and MEMS technology companies.
Prior to Novellus Dr Hanley spent his earlier career at Applied Materials and at Varian Associates.

Cavendish Kinetics has an impressive management team and strong board-level representation.
This includes founder, Charles Smith, Reader in Nano Electronic Devices at Cambridge University and Mike Beunder, who held senior positions in Philips Semiconductor and with startup companies in California.
Other board members include David Brand, a veteran of the semiconductor industry and the previous head of AMD in the UK.
