Nonvolatile SRAMs expand to 8Mbit
New 2 and 8Mbit nvSRAMs feature access times as low as 20ns, infinite read, write and recall cycles, and 20-year data retention.
Design tool bridges high and low levels
Integrated design environment includes both code-free and high-level-language programming modes in one package.
Combined with Warp Release 6.0, introduced last year, Cypress now offers a full arsenal of tools for the programmable logic user In addition to support for Delta39K CPLDs, ISR Release 3.0 adds a new layer of capability by supporting the JEDEC Standard Test and Programming Language (STAPL) for programmable logic.
STAPL is based on the Jam programming language.
A pioneer supporter of Jam, Cypress Semiconductor provides STAPL support for both the Delta39K and Ultra37000 families of CPLDs.
STAPL is a vendor- and platform-independent language for programming devices using the IEEE-standard 1149.1 TAP controller, commonly known as JTAG.
JTAG allows the specification of both the programming data and programming algorithm in a single file.
Once created, the file contains all the information required to program a specific design into a targeted programmable device.
"Cypress has always supported open standards", said Richard Kapusta, senior product marketing manager for Cypress Semiconductor.
"We believe in providing the designer the highest level of support without compromising the flexibility of standardized design methods".
Trevor Davis, software product marketing manager, said, "ISR Release 3.0 complements Warp, our software tool offering for Delta39K CPLDs.
With a full software suite supporting Delta39K silicon, engineers now have a real head-start at fast-track system designs".
ISR Release 3.0 supports Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5 or later and Windows 2000.
It can be downloaded at no charge from the Cypress.
In addition, ISR 3.0 will ship with all Cypress ISR and WarpISR kits at the end of its beta test period, scheduled for the end of the first quarter of this year.
