Serial interface engine provides USB 2.0 for MCUs
Cypress Semiconductor has expanded its USB 2.0 product line with the introduction of the EZ-USB SX2 intelligent serial interface engine (SIE).
"Cypress's Delta39K CPLDs combine programmable logic with PLL, memory, manufacturing, and process expertise into a family of innovative programmable communications devices with the advantages that Cypress CPLDs are known for: high speed, predictable timing, ease of use, and non-volatility at leadership densities", said Geoff Charubin, Director Of Marketing at Cypress's Data Communications Division.
"The Delta39K devices are key pieces of the product portfolios the company presents to customers in the wide area networking, storage networking and wireless infrastructure markets.
This prototype board makes the world's largest CPLDs available on a broad scale to system developers worldwide".

Software gets to grips with the largest CPLDs
The latest version of Cypress Semiconductor's In-System Reprogrammable (ISR) software is now available from the company's website.
The Delta39K/Ultra37000 prototype board contains both a 100,000-gate Delta39K device and a 256-macrocell Ultra37000 CPLD.
Access to both of these devices in a chain provides the designer a number of options in prototyping.
The WarpISR Programming Kit (CY3620R61) enables users to program Ultra37000, Ultra37000V, Delta39K, and Programmable Serial Interface (PSI) programmable devices using the prototype board, ISR programming software, an UltraISR programming cable and a PC.
This and other development kits combine the board with Cypress's Warp(tm) development environment or In-System Reprogrammable (ISR) software to deliver to the user a complete design flow from design to silicon all on a desktop PC, at prices starting at $175.
"The WarpISR programming kit is an industry-leading value in hardware support of design verification and test", said Trevor Davis, Software Product Marketing Manager at Cypress.
"This is consistent with our drive to provide designers with the highest level of support without compromising the flexibility of standardised design methods".
"Designers have access to the full suite of tools they need to take their design from software to silicon - all from their desktop", said Jason Baumbach, Data Communications Applications Manager at Cypress.
"In addition to manufacturing world-class device families, Cypress is committed to providing world-class software and development tools.
This prototype board is one more example of the value Cypress offers its customers".
Kits that contain the Delta39K/Ultra37000 prototype board are available now.
Resale prices start at $175 for the CY3620R61 development kit.
