Cypress Semiconductor has shipped its two millionth USB 2.0 peripheral controller.
With the demonstrated success of its ISD-300A1 and EZ-USB FX2 devices, Cypress expects to capture a significant share of the hi-speed USB market.
"Determined to make USB an ubiquitous interface for all computing platforms, Cypress will continue to grow its portfolio of hi-speed USB devices", said Jeff Chang, product marketing manager for Cypress's Personal Communications Division.
"By addressing our customers' changing needs, Cypress continues to be a key driver and early adopter in the USB market".
The ISD-300A1 is a USB 2.0-to-ATA/ATAPI bridge device that enables PCs and other information appliances to connect to external mass storage devices-including hard disk, CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-ROMs, and ZIP drives-via a 480Mbit/s USB 2.0 link.
The EZ-USB FX2 is a fully integrated hi-speed USB 2.0 microcontroller, with the flexibility to address a range of peripheral applications.
