Zero-delay buffers claim top speed
Enhanced performance zero-delay buffers are claimed to outperform all pin-compatible products for high-speed communications and consumer devices.
Cypress Semiconductor has announced production availability of enhanced performance zero-delay buffers (ZDBs) that outperform all pin-compatible products for high-speed communications and consumer devices The CY23EP05 and CY23EP09 phase-locked loop (PLL) clock buffers offer the highest operating frequency, the lowest cycle-to-cycle jitter and the lowest output-to-output skew on the market

Nonvolatile SRAMs expand to 8Mbit
New 2 and 8Mbit nvSRAMs feature access times as low as 20ns, infinite read, write and recall cycles, and 20-year data retention.
Design tool bridges high and low levels
Integrated design environment includes both code-free and high-level-language programming modes in one package.
The products add to Cypress's portfolio of timing solutions for applications such as multiservice routers and switches, basestations, plasma displays and set-top boxes.
Cypress's enhanced performance ZDBs offer powerful performance, with a 220MHz maximum operating frequency and 3.3 or 2.5V operating voltage.
In addition, the CY23EP05 and CY23EP09 offer best-in-class performance with 55ps cycle-to-cycle jitter and 100ps output-to-output skew.
Both the enhanced performance ZDBs are available in lead-free packages.
"The introduction of these enhanced performance zero-delay buffers demonstrates Cypress's commitment to pushing the performance envelope for timing solutions", said Wendy Zhou, Marketing Manager for Cypress's Timing Distribution Products.
"Cypress was first to market with zero-delay buffers and we have extended our leadership, offering our customers the industry's broadest portfolio of timing solutions".
The five-output CY23EP05 is offered in an 8-pin 150mil SOIC package, priced at $0.75 each in 1000 unit quantities.
The nine-output CY23EP09 is offered in a 16-pin 150mil SOIC or a 4.4mm TSSOP package.
It is priced at $1.10 each in 1000 unit quantities.
Both devices are available now.
