Design tool bridges high and low levels
Integrated design environment includes both code-free and high-level-language programming modes in one package.
The CYV270M0101EQ equalisers remove inter-symbol interference from video signals traveling over a cable, supporting up to an industry-best 350m of cable length.
The equalisers offer a power savings of 40% over competing solutions, typically an important feature in video systems requiring multiple input SDI links such as production switchers and video routers.
The CYV270M0101EQ equalisers are compliant with the Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers (SMPTE) 292M, 344M and 259M datarates.

"Altera's complete Video Over IP reference design using the Cypress's SD/DVB-ASI video equaliser enables equipment manufacturers to implement high-performance and cost-effective solutions for transmitting video over IP networks", said Todd Scott, Altera's Senior Director for the Broadcast, Automotive and Consumer Business Unit.
"The Altera video over IP reference design is part of a suite of technical solutions that showcase Altera's comprehensive support for the broadcast industry's rapid progression towards digital and high-definition broadcasting".
"Altera is a leading supplier of solutions for content creation and delivery, and we are pleased our video equalisers have earned a position in their Video Over IP reference design", said Gopal Garg, Managing Director of Video and Interconnect Products at Cypress.
"Altera's selection of our CYV270M0101EQ equalisers is a clear indication of the reliable, high-performance broadcasting solutions from Cypress".
The Altera reference design, which was named eeProduct Center's "Product of the Month" for April 2005, targets applications for broadcast head-end and audio/video delivery systems.
In addition to broadcast infrastructure, the design is applicable to any situation where high speed transport of data over Ethernet is required, including production studio, content distribution, video conferencing, security surveillance and medical imaging.
Altera has built several demonstration boards using the CYV270M0101EQ equalisers and one will be on view at its Booth 8.375 and at Cypress's Booth 12.301 at IBC2006 in Amsterdam from 8th to 12th September 2006.
Cypress will demonstrate its complete video interface solution, including the Hotlink-On-Demand family of video serdes, multi-format equalisers, and cable drivers.
