A wirelessUSB LP radio system-on-chip has secured more than 175 design wins in less than one year of production.

Cypress Semiconductor's WirelessUSB LP radio system-on-chip has secured more than 175 design wins in less than one year of production.

Products using the device include wireless human-interface devices (HIDs) such as mice, keyboards, presenter tools, remote controls and gaming controllers, as well as Voice over IP headsets, toys, medical appliances, and wireless embedded controls.

In the same time frame, WirelessUSB LP shipped over 2m units.

WirelessUSB LP (CYRF6936) is a highly integrated 2.4GHz radio transceiver plus digital baseband that makes use of advanced power-optimisation techniques to extend battery life to greater than one year in HIDs and other wireless applications.

The device features Cypress's AgileHID protocol with patented frequency agile Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) technology for excellent interference immunity, enabling a superior user experience in the crowded 2.4GHz spectrum.

"WirelessUSB LP delivers an unprecedented, robust wireless solution with the industry's lowest power consumption and unrivaled interference immunity", says Matt Branda, Senior Product Marketing Manager of Cypress's Human Interface Device Business Unit.

"The market success quantified by this announcement validates the importance of these features, as well as highlights Cypress's superior support and our solution's ease-of-use".

"For these reasons, our customers are able to bring their innovative RF products to market quickly and cost effectively".
