With an embedded 500MHz Pentium III processor the new CPU-7630 Compact PCI single board computer from Datasound Laboratories meets the needs of a wide range of industrial control and processing applications.

The CPU-7630 is designed to handle multi-computing, hot-swap and PMI requirements with ease and this highly integrated computer operates with any Pentium embedded processor module in MMC2 form factor.

With built-in numeric co-processor support and supporting MMX technology, the board has been enhanced to support rugged industrial environments and incorporates more expansion and communications slots.

A major feature of this CPU board is its multiprocessing capability created by using the modular approach of one of the two onboard PCI bridges.

By integrating all of the most commonly needed peripheral devices, the CPU-7630 is designed to be a direct replacement for most other industrial computers.

Onboard peripherals include SSD with CompactFlash, floppy disk interface, dual EIDE interfaces, keyboard and mouse controllers, two serial ports, two USB ports, two 10/100Mb Ethernet controller, onboard 66MHz AGP SVGA controller with 2Mbyte DRAM for CRT and LCD, printer interface, speaker interface, watchdog timer and real time clock.

Measuring 233 x 160mm (6U size), the board is available in 4TE and 8TE thicknesses and operates reliably in an ambient temperature of 0-55C.

The board operates under standard PC operating systems including MS-DOS, Windows 3.11, 95/98, and NT, QNX, VRTX32, UNIX, Linux and VxWork.
