The smartModule embedded PC series from DSL has been extended to include a new PC module based on a Celeron CPU with 300 and 400MHz or a Pentium III processor with 400 and 700MHz clock frequency.
The smartModule embedded PC series from DSL has been extended to include a new PC module based on a Celeron CPU with 300 and 400MHz or a Pentium III processor with 400 and 700MHz clock frequency A true modular solution, smartModule benefits from a thermal concept that allows the smartModule cover to be connected to the case of a device for better heat dissipation

Low-power SBC crams in compatibility
Designed to run from a single 5V power supply, the CPU-C3VE from DSL meets PC/104-Plus standards for full IBM-AT and PCI compatibility.
Credit-card-sized PC
According to Datasound Laboratories, with its credit-card-sized package, the smartModule is the perfect choice for OEMs seeking high performance in the smallest of footprints.
If however, a direct contact is not possible, other specifically designed modular thermal management adaptations are available.
The smartModule SMP3PC has a footprint of 66 x 85mm, and a profile of only 14mm.
Providing extensive storage capabilities like a 256Kbyte L2 cache and a large main memory which can be fitted individually with SODIMM components from 32 to 256Mbyte DRAM, the PC module is equipped with an SXGA-69030 video controller, 4Mbyte video RAM, and a 36bit LCD interface, and offers resolutions of up to 1280 x 1024pixel with 256 colours.
The BIOS for VGA and LCD is also integrated.
A version without VGA is also available.
The standard version also includes two USB ports, interfaces for two hard disks, floppy disk, keyboard, mouse, printer and TTL ports at COM1 and COM2.
Other features include a watchdog, a power-management unit according to the latest standards like APM, ACPI, S2D (suspend to disk) for mobile applications, a connection for an external RTC battery, EEPROM support up to 1Kbyte, and support of external IrDA ports.
The SMP3PC runs under Windows 98/CE/NT4 and other popular operating systems, such as Linux, QNX and RTXDOS.
Designed for low power consumption, it can be operated in the standard temperature range of -25 to +50C.
If desired, the products are also available for the extended temperature range of -40 to +70øC.
The embedded PC is tested for shock and vibration, and is ideally suited for applications in the areas of navigation, telecommunications, computer periphery, medical and measurement technologies, the aerospace industry, automotive electronics and in Internet terminals.
