The eBox-III from Datasound Laboratories is an 800MHz industrial thin client based on the new Via Eden-N CPU.

The eBox-III from Datasound Laboratories is an 800MHz industrial thin client based on the new Via Eden-N CPU Its fanless operation makes it ideal for harsh environments where no moving parts are required, and the rugged enclosure provides protection against shock and vibration

Two build options are available, the first supporting a standard laptop style hard disk drive for commercial application requiring high capacity storage.

The second option supports IDE Flash Disk-on-Module storage from 16Mbyte up to 2Gbyte (also available from Datasound Laboratories).

An Integrated Via UniChrome 2D/3D graphics chipset provides MPEG2 acceleration for high performance video playback with CRT/LCD resolutions up to 1280 x 1024.

Other onboard features include two USB 2.0 ports for simple plug-and-play addition of peripheral devices, 10/100Base-T Ethernet supporting remote boot, PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports, AC97 audio, one serial port and a parallel port.

Pricing is another very attractive feature of the eBox-III.

It is available in quantities of 100 off for only GBP 149 (approximately $269) including chassis, 800MHz CPU and 256Mbyte RAM.
