Half-brick performance in a
quarter-brick outline
According to Datel, its USQ Series of high-efficiency quarter-brick DC/DC convertors offer current-output capability, power and performance typically expected of half-brick devices.

Novel regulation makes dual DC/DCs more flexible
Datel's new BWR-5/3.3, 33W Series mixed-voltage, dual-output (3.3 and 5V) DC/DC convertors feature a novel output structure that does not limit output current in the traditional manner.
More current from industry-standard convertors
Datel's new USN Series D5 SIPs are nonisolated DC/DC convertors that accept a 5V input (4.5 to 5.5V input range) and deliver 1.5, 1.8, 2.5 or 3.3V outputs at either 8 or 10A.
They are fully line and load regulated (+0.05% max) and feature quick transient response (200us maximum to +1% of the final value for a 50 to 75% load step), 50mV of peak-peak noise, stable no-load operation (for power-conscious chips in "sleep" mode), user-optional remote on/off control (for power sequencing), and a plethora of protection schemes to protect both the convertor and its load, including an optional input overvoltage protection scheme.
Models with input voltages of 48V (36-75V DC) and 24V (18-36V DC) are provided.
The high efficiencies (to 91%) of the USQ models enable them to deliver fully rated output power from -40 to +60C (ambient) without heatsinks.
Heatsinks are available for demanding, extended-temperature-range applications to operate in temperatures up to +100C.
The 100% automatically assembled USQs achieve a high MTBF ( better than 2.5Mh) by exploiting reliable "snap together" planar magnetics rather than traditional wire-wound approaches.
The USQ Series receives full HALT (highly accelerated life testing), EMI/EMC compliance testing and IEC950/UL6050/EN60950 safety approval testing.
