Convertors deliver low-voltage power
from 5V input
A new high-power DC/DC convertor is an ideal solution in situations where designers need lots of "low-voltage" current but are constrained to drawing that power from a legacy 5V bus.
Datel's new 30-66W open-frame UNR series nonisolated DC/DC convertors deliver up to 20A of 1.5, 1.8, 2.5 or 3.3V current from a 5V input (4.75-5.5V range), providing the ideal solution in situations where designers need lots of "low-voltage" current but are constrained to drawing that power from a legacy 5V bus The 30-66W UNR's combine a modern, high-efficiency (to 91%), fully synchronous buck topology with a unique, integrated-metal-technology (IMT) package

Novel regulation makes dual DC/DCs more flexible
Datel's new BWR-5/3.3, 33W Series mixed-voltage, dual-output (3.3 and 5V) DC/DC convertors feature a novel output structure that does not limit output current in the traditional manner.
More current from industry-standard convertors
Datel's new USN Series D5 SIPs are nonisolated DC/DC convertors that accept a 5V input (4.5 to 5.5V input range) and deliver 1.5, 1.8, 2.5 or 3.3V outputs at either 8 or 10A.
The open-frame package, which guarantees an overall height less than 13mm, combines SMT components, contemporary thermal- clad PCB materials, and a factory installed, anodised-aluminium heatsink.
The end result is a high-current high-power assembly that displays outstanding performance over temperature.
For example, the most powerful model in the family (3.3V at 20A continuous) with a minimal 100 litre/min air flow, delivers its full 66W of output power all the way to +65C (ambient) with no derating.
The convertors are fully line (+0.1% max) and load (+0.5% max) regulated and deliver low noise (typically 75mV peak-peak), impressively quick step response (50us), and no-load stability (enabling them to easily accommodate circuit partitions going into "sleep" mode).
Their feature set includes output voltage trim capability (for power-supply "margining"), an on/off control function (for power sequencing), output remote-sense pins (for point-of-load regulation), and output over current detection and short-circuit protection ("hiccup" technique with auto-recovery).
All UNR, 30-66W open-frame DC/DC convertors are UL1950/EN60950 certified.
Safety reports, EMC compliance reports (EMC compliance is achieved via a low noise design rather than through expensive metal shielding.), and qualification (including halt) test reports are available on request.
Small quantities of UNR 30-66W series DC/DC convertors (or free sample/evaluation units) can be ordered directly from the Datel website using credit cards.
