Diagnosys on the acquisition trail

A Diagnosys product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Nov 6, 2002

Test and inspection specialist Diagnosys has acquired the Schlumberger board and protocol test business.

Test and inspection specialist Diagnosys has acquired the Schlumberger board and protocol test business.

The acquisition includes functional and in-circuit board test products, the GR-303 and ETSI V5 telecomms protocol test products and fault-finder product ranges, together with a greatly extended worldwide customer base and an excellent network of technical support centres.

The acquisition means that DiagnoSYS can now offer the entire spectrum of test products and services from an expanded, worldwide platform that provides the company with an invaluable global perspective of new technological trends and developments.

The company will also develop its established and respected range of existing products into complete electronics test solutions, building on strongholds in the UK and US markets to support its new status as a major global player.

"Diagnosys has always been totally committed to the test industry and this acquisition demonstrates without question our credibility and commitment to long-term growth within the market", says the company's Managing Director, David Cawkell.

Another major benefit of the acquisition is that Diagnosys has vastly increased the size of its pool of expertise and internal infrastructure.

This includes, for example, the addition of four new support centres across the USA, as well as new operations in Germany, France, Sweden, India and South America.

"By integrating these new support centres alongside our already excellent distributor network, we can now offer state-of-the-art localised technical support to customers in all the major manufacturing centres around the world", comments Diagnosys Sales Director, Paul Welland.

"New and existing customers will also benefit enormously from the advantages that come from working with one of the world's largest test solutions providers", he continues.

"Diagnosys is committed to supporting all of its customers' global test requirements, and to growing in line with their changing business requirements.

Our aim is to develop even closer partnerships with customers to help them derive maximum value from their existing assets, using a tailor-made, service-driven approach to focus on every customer's specific needs.

The move also expands the scope and capacity of ESS, our test services outsourcing division".

"Electronics test is our core business and the magnitude of this acquisition underlines the continued and indispensable value of test within the wider electronics industry", summarises Cawkell.

"The acquisition is a positive step forwards that will benefit the company, its workforce, customers and suppliers long into the future.

Furthermore, because Diagnosys has made this substantial investment in the company and its products, we are now able to compete for business in the global market place on a larger scale than we could ever have done before".
