Data Translation has released Global Lab Image/2 (GLI/2) version 3.0, a powerful upgrade to its flexible, Windows-based imaging software package for scientific image analysis and general-purpose imaging markets New features include enhanced colour image processing, automatic thresholding, improved analysis capabilities, and additional image capture hardware support

GLI/2's powerful tools and customisable easy-to-use programming environment make it ideal for imaging applications that require measuring, classifying, counting, size distribution analysis, and other measurement and analysis tasks.

Key features of the new GLI/2 include: an enhanced colour plane tool with HSL processing capability; an enhanced picture tool for greater image acquisition; an enhanced threshold tool for easy binary image creation; a new import/export tool for easy data transfer; and a new prompt tool with interactive capability.

"This new release makes Global Lab Image/2 an even easier to use and more versatile image analysis package.

With the addition of supporting our new low-cost DT3120 frame grabber, GLI/2 makes for a very affordable and powerful image analysis solution", said Nigel Doe, UK Sales Manager for Data Translation.

The new Global Lab Image/2 version 3.0 will be available in April 2001 for GBP1695, with upgrades from previous GLI/2 versions for GBP395.
