Labtech and Data Translation have announced the release of Labtech Version 12.1, a significant upgrade that now supports Data Translation's DT-Open Layers 32bit WDM drivers.

Labtech and Data Translation have announced the release of Labtech Version 12.1, a significant upgrade that now supports Data Translation's DT-Open Layers 32bit WDM drivers Now any device with a DT-Open Layers 32bit driver is supported by the full Labtech product line, from the low-cost, lab-oriented Labtech Notebook to the high-end, factory process control-oriented Labtech Controlpro

DT-Open Layers is a set of open software standards for Microsoft Windows that allows users to easily add support for new Data Translation hardware and devices without reprogramming.

This release of Labtech offers high-speed streaming of data directly to disk.

Benchmark tests show 100kHz throughput for Data Translation's USB devices with 16bit precision.

Data Translationûs DT9800 series provides 500V isolation to protect the USB from unwanted noise and ground spikes.

Without this isolation, the user risks program interruptions, system halts, and damage to the system.

For this reason, Data Translation's products are optically and galvanically isolated from the USB.

"This is a significant advance in data acquisition technology.

Prior to Data Translation's USB modules, Labtech users just couldn't get everything they needed from any device high speed, excellent signal quality, ease of use, and portability.

Now, users can have it all", said Dr Fred A Putnam, founder and CEO of Labtech.

"Data Translation has worked with Labtech for over 15 years to provide support for our products.

Now, with DT-Open Layers, Labtech can offer its customers complete support of our USB and PCI boards.

We are pleased that this partnership continues to grow and prosper", said Fred Molinari, founder and CEO of Data Translation.

Labtech NOTEBOOK, Notebookpro Control and Controlpro run under Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, or ME.

System requirements include an IBM PC compatible (486 or better), 32Mbyte RAM, and VGA graphics or better.

Labtech Version 12.1 is available immediately.

Labtech Notebook begins at $695.00; Labtech Control begins at $2495.00.
