Data Translation has added Scope 2.0 to its free Omni CD for data acquisition.

Data Translation has added Scope 2.0 to its free Omni CD for data acquisition The free software, which is also available for download, presents a multichannel oscilloscope together with real-time FFT and a 16-channel strip-chart, all within an easy to use graphical user interface

"Because the market is dominated by large, complex packages for graphical programming, simple operation is usually out of the question", said Nigel Doe, UK Sales Manager.

"With Scope 2.0 Data Translation goes back to the roots of data acquisition".

Scope 2.0 was designed to resemble conventional measurement instruments, rather than a drag and drop Windows approach, in accordance with conventional oscilloscopes and strip-chart recorders.

The GUI is functional and easy to use, the procedures follow the logical method of confirming the hardware to be used, configuring and selecting the channels (up to 16), and choosing the method of measurement, Oscilloscope (time series display), FFT (frequency domain) or strip-chart.

Scope 2.0 is based on the Open Layers software structure which means that it's compatible and easy to configure with all Data Translation PCIbus or USB data acquisition modules.

Scope 2.0 is included on the Omni CD for data acquisition that ships free with all Data Translation PCI and USB data acquisition products.

The Omni CD is also free to download from the Data Translation website.

Scope 2.0 is available for Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT4.0 and Windows 2000.
