Handy portable data collection terminal
DED has released the ScanPal 2 portable data collection terminal, which is designed to provide high performance for everyday use.
The demands of automated gaming require that a player's winnings are printed onto a barcoded ticket to be cashed at the cash desk.
In NRC Touch Gaming's case, their state-of-the-art Touch AR terminals require compact, reliable, high quality printers as the output from the machine must look as good as the machine itself.
DED's experience and technical expertise was called on once again to deliver the winning solution with NRC Touch Gaming's requirements perfectly matched this time by the NP345 thermal ticket printer from Nippon Primex.
In this particular instance, size was everything and thanks to its clever design the NP345 takes up very little space but is more than robust enough for the job.
Featuring high quality rapid text, graphics and a wide range of barcodes, including two-dimensional QRCode plus portrait, landscape and bitmap printing, the NP345 is also security conscious, retaining the perforated, customised tickets within the machine until printing is completed.
This prevents user-interference and is therefore ideal for unattended applications.
DED's standard kiosk product range can be viewed on its website.
But it is the company's experience of offering custom design solutions that sets it apart from other distributors, as NRC Touch Gaming would testify.
With the legislation relating to the gaming industry currently being redefined, the future for DED's expertise within this very specific market is looking a pretty safe bet.
