SolderMask of Huntington Beach, California, has been signed as the first North American licensee of DEK's innovative VectorGuard stencil technology.

SolderMask of Huntington Beach, California, has been signed as the first North American licensee of DEK's innovative VectorGuard stencil technology Under the terms of the agreement, SolderMask will manufacture VectorGuard stencils from foil blanks supplied by DEK and will also provide customers with VectorGuard frames

Commenting on the new agreement, Neil MacRaild, Americas General Manager for DEK Process Support Products, says: "We are looking forward to our licensing relationship with SolderMask and are confident that their manufacturing standards, logistics capability and excellent customer service make them extremely well-equipped to support the VectorGuard technology".

Introduced in 2003, the VectorGuard stencil system enhances user-friendliness, handling, storage and turnaround time for users of frame-mount stencils.

The extruded aluminium safety edges and plastic corner pieces of each stencil are easy to remove for recycling, making VectorGuard an environmentally friendly solution.

They are also easy to mount and dismount from the new VectorGuard frame without using special equipment.

Frank Kurisu of SolderMask is equally enthused about the new agreement and is honored to be the first North American licensee.

"The ease of use and the mounting tension of the VectorGuard stencils are quite impressive".

"I recognised the value that the system could provide to our customers who wanted an easy, frame-mounted stencil system option and DEK had the perfect solution with the simple, safe and efficient VectorGuard technology".

"This agreement enables us to expand our product offerings and supply our customers with another tool to improve their manufacturing operations".

In an ongoing effort to provide today's manufacturing professionals with easy access to the latest technologies, DEK has licensed several of its market leading innovations including ProFlow, PumpPrinting and selected DEK software products to competitors and independent specialists worldwide.

The VectorGuard licensing effort is no different and, following this first agreement with SolderMask, DEK will sign on several other leading North American companies as VectorGuard licensees.

"Licensing this technology is a win-win for everyone", says MacRaild.

"Customers benefit from the expanded accessibility of the technology; licensees are able to grow their product offerings; and DEK realises increased market acceptance of the VectorGuard system".
