DEK is preparing to launch the VectorGuard Nickel Laser Cut stencil range at ATExpo 2005 from 27th to 29th September in Chicago.

DEK is preparing to launch the VectorGuard Nickel Laser Cut stencil range at ATExpo 2005 To be held from 27th to 29th September in Chicago, the event will also showcase an impressive array of DEK high accuracy mass imaging solutions on Booth 5400

"ATExpo is the perfect platform from which to launch the VectorGuard Nickel Laser Cut range, as well as showcasing the scale of our high accuracy mass imaging expertise", comments DEK's Americas General Manager, Neil MacRalid.

"As the lead-free deadline approaches, manufacturers are increasingly in need of solutions that can restore certainty in uncertain times".

"Delegates will find out first hand how VectorGuard does just this, delivering unprecedented levels of paste volume repeatability and durability for more reliable and cost-effective lead-free processes".

The VectorGuard Nickel Laser Cut stencils are specifically designed to address the challenges presented by lead-free, accommodating the effects of changing paste rheology on aperture release characteristics.

VectorGuard Nickel Laser Cut delivers a high level of paste volume repeatability to optimise process yield and uniformity.

This flexible solution additionally incorporates the resilience of nickel to create a robust, long term, stencil system.

VectorGuard forms just one part of DEK's extensive lead-free proposition, supported by the company's immense technical expertise.

Throughout the event, DEK representatives will be on hand to provide lead-free advice to delegates wanting to learn more about this subject.

Meanwhile, Clive Ashmore, Global Applied Process Engineering Group Manager at DEK, will be presenting a lead-free paper - "Mass imaging of lead-free material" - adding a further dimension to DEK's presence at the event.

The ATExpo stage will also be home to a diverse range of innovative DEK technologies, including the Instinctiv user interface.

Delegates will be invited to witness this technology in action and discover how it is able to interact with DEK machines to enhance productivity, machine utilisation and traceability.

Instinctiv functionality is available on all advanced DEK high accuracy mass imaging platforms, including the Horizon 01i which will also be on display at the DEK booth.

The Horizon 01i, also fully compatible with DEK's VectorGuard range, has a full process capability of Cpk 2.0 at +/-25um, enabling high-mix and high-volume manufacturing at cycle times of 10s for maximum throughput.

Alongside the Horizon 01i, DEK will be exhibiting its HawkEye automatic print verification technology.

Operating at the line beat rate, HawkEye automatically isolates faulty boards in real time, eliminating the need for error-prone manual inspection processes.

In addition to the impressive range already outlined, DEK will use ATExpo 2005 to exhibit a diverse variety of Grid-Lok and custom-dedicated tooling and consumables, optimised for modern electronics assembly.

"The ATExpo looks set to be a great opportunity for delegates to see for themselves how DEK has innovatively responded to every challenge posed by the modern electronics industry", concludes MacRalid.
