A DEK product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Mar 16, 2006

DEK's Nepcon exhibit will include the HawkEye print verification system operating on a Europa SMT printer equipped with Instinctiv, new VectorGuard stencil technologies and high-quality consumables.

DEK has confirmed plans to showcase its technology leadership at this year's Nepcon exhibition, and will highlight its continued commitment to superior product and process development from Stand C30, at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham.

Being held over from 9th to 11th May 2006, Nepcon is the UK's leading national event for electronics manufacturers.

DEK's booth occupies a prime location in the NEC exhibitor halls, enhancing visibility of the company's array of leading-edge technologies.

Using a combination of informative displays, on-stand exhibits and innovative demonstrations, the stand will draw particular attention to solutions enabling high productivity and repeatable lead-free printing.

These will include the HawkEye print verification system operating on a Europa high-accuracy SMT printer equipped with Instinctiv, new VectorGuard stencil technologies, and high-quality consumables.

"This event will provide DEK with a unique opportunity to exhibit its renowned technology leadership to UK markets, highlighting our innovative product range alongside the processes and expertise that underpin it", explains DEK Sales and Distribution Manager for Northern Europe, Richard Castle.

"In global terms, DEK attaches immense significance to exhibitions such as Nepcon".

"The opportunity to discuss current market issues with our customers, to present our product range and to hold live process demonstrations on this scale, has consistently proven to be invaluable".

Visitors to stand C30 will be invited to witness DEK's HawkEye print verification system in action, being demonstrated live on the Europa platform.

Currently experiencing high levels of demand from DEK's international customer base, HawkEye enables high-speed verification of 100% of printed boards at line beat rate.

The system analyses streamed 2D board images in real time to quickly generate a pass/fail indication, Any faulty board can be immediately isolated before component placement and returned for cleaning and re-printing, thereby minimising scrap.

The Europa machine will also display DEK's Instinctiv user interface, which provides intuitive graphical features and onboard help to streamline new product introduction, facilitate process monitoring and optimisation, and reduce stoppages.

Instinctiv is already in service at numerous customer sites worldwide, and enables faster setup, first time print, lower operator training requirements, and easier error avoidance and recovery.

With the lead-free deadline now only a matter of months away, the DEK stand will also showcase the latest VectorGuard stencil technologies that address the need for superior accuracy in the new lead-free environment.

The VectorGuard Gold electroformed stencils and VectorGuard Silver nickel laser-cut stencils deliver enhanced aperture release and paste volume repeatability, in addition to the ease of use, storage and recyclability advantages of DEK's VectorGuard technology.

Additional stand highlights will include a display of DEK's complete range of consumables, which provides quality process support products for every manufacturing requirement.
