Improved printing on show in Munich
The latest additions to DEK's ProFlow product family will break cover at Productronica this November.
In migrating from squeegees to enclosed printhead technology through the adoption of ProFlow Direkt Imaging technology, users have benefited from enhanced throughput, higher process yields, improved efficiency, and lower material consumption.
Not only does Direkt Imaging dramatically improve the efficiency of the surface mount preplacement process, it also delivers environmental benefits and exceptional ease of use for operators.
Using the fully enclosed ProFlow transfer head, Direkt Imaging deposits adhesive dots across the entire surface of the board in a single stroke, allowing the throughput of this process step to match the intake rates required by high-speed placement systems.
The Direkt Imaging system provides precise, programmable control over the volume of adhesive deposited.
As a result, multiple dot heights can be achieved in a single stroke, supporting the production requirements of highly complex, double-sided assemblies.
To maintain positive environmental control, the sealed ProFlow cassette prevents exposure of the adhesive to the atmosphere, ensuring that the material will not absorb water or air during the dispensing operation.
For adhesives requiring specific temperatures during use, the addition of an integrated temperature control (ITC) unit to the transfer head maintains a preset temperature.
The sealed cassette also eliminates the need for manual cleaning, since no material is left behind on either the top or bottom of the stencil.
The use of a DEK screen printer equipped with ProFlow Direkt Imaging offers significant cost savings over conventional high-speed serial dispensing systems.
The entire system may also be used for screen printing as needed, providing added equipment flexibility.
