DEK's RTC (rapid transit conveyor) technology is currently presenting manufacturers around the world with an industry first: repeatable core cycle time of just 4s The breakthrough high-speed handling solution is equipped to deliver a significant and deterministic reduction in screen printing cycle time to four seconds

As a consequence, in addition to representing a dramatic improvement on previous best-in-class cycle times, RTC delivers this regardless of other process variables to simplify the calculation of overall cycle time.

By presenting manufacturers with unparalleled printer board/hour delivery, DEK is able to guarantee line and process optimisation to lower dead-time, increase productivity and enhance cost-effectiveness.

"With the introduction of RTC, DEK has reinforced its technology leadership by pioneering unprecedented screen printing cycle times", explains DEK's CEO John Hartner.

"Since most performance upgrades claiming to enhance cycle times are highly dependent on process variables, RTC provides a welcome alternative, eliminating any doubt to offer manufacturers a significant operational advantage".

"Because DEK customers are assured a consistent high-speed cycle time of 4 seconds, they can accurately predict screen printing throughput to meet current and future line beat rates".

RTC is designed to overcome the physical limitations governing board transport, using a servomotor to greatly increase the speed at which boards are moved into and out of the machine.

Replacing the traditional belt-type board transport medium with a stepper motor controlled positive retention mechanism, RTC is not dependent on friction to retain the board.

The result enables manufacturers to simply and cost-effectively accelerate board transport to a high steady-state speed.

In addition, by utilising the advanced motor control of DEK's ISCAN intelligent scalable control area network infrastructure, RTC can be rapidly integrated with new machines to further extend throughput advantage.
