DEK has won a Global Technology Award for its Instinctiv machine user interface.

DEK has won a Global Technology Award for its Instinctiv machine user interface The trophy was presented to the mass imaging specialist at a ceremony held on September 27th at Chicago's ATExpo 2006

Sponsored by Global SMT and Packaging Magazine, the awards were designed to recognise the best new product innovations released over the past year.

Instinctiv won the software category after the panel of international experts judged its performance favourably in relation to key criteria including innovation, quality contribution, cost-benefit, ease-of-use and maintainability.

Instinctiv is an advanced machine user interface with an ability to simultaneously maximise machine utilisation, process control and operator efficiency.

By employing Human Factors techniques most often associated with virtual reality technologies, Instinctiv is able to display complex machine and process data in an accessible format.

Furthermore, TimeToGo real-time indications of consumables levels enable operators to accurately judge the time remaining before replenishment is required.

In addition to delivering operational advantages as an advanced graphical interface, Instinctiv also provides machine users with a portal to DEK's online support services.

Incorporating a high level of onboard help and error recovery, Instinctiv grants users access to detailed and continually updated process and setup information, graphical tips and assistance.

As a breakthrough technology, Instinctiv allows operators to significantly improve uptime and achieve higher productivity with less training.
