Imaging company opens Chinese facility

Manufacturers of PV cells can combine DEK's precision screens with printers from DEK or third-party suppliers.
It will initially focus on the production of entry level and medium range printer platforms.
Since this output is expected to account for 50% of DEK's total worldwide production by the end of the year, the new facility will substantially enhance the company's capacity to accommodate the increasing demand for its product and process expertise.
"In such a fast growing economic environment, it is imperative that the manufacturing industry evolves in line with the needs of its domestic markets", explains DEK's General Manager for Asia, Peland Koh.
"As a global technology leader, we understand the importance of meeting local market requirements - which is why we have significantly developed our manufacturing capacity in Shenzhen".
The new Shenzhen site will be managed by TK Wong, the General Manager of DEK's existing facility.
He said "The location of the new facility was chosen for its close proximity to our former site in Shekou".
"Retaining all the benefits of convenient travel routes for customers and suppliers, the new site provides continuity for our highly skilled workforce - 100% of which has already transferred to the new environment".
"Having invested heavily in our knowledge base, facilities and resources, we continue to deliver the tools our customers need to drive productivity and business growth".
"The new manufacturing facility in Shenzhen will enable us to maintain a highly responsive service, delivering products and services on a rapid turnaround to meet customer requirements".
