The Pod is a novel ultra-portable MPEG/DVB analyser available form Digi-Box.co.uk, and based on the Flagship 21port DVStation The device is a single-port book-sized box that connects to a laptop using standard Ethernet

The small size and portability make the Pod ideal for commissioning, installation, and troubleshooting applications.

Software running on the laptop uses the standard DVStation easy-to-use user interface, and so training and familiarisation is optimised across the product line.

Additionally, the standard 96Mbyte capture capability of all TSP cards is also available in the Pod allowing users to capture a transport stream in the field for later playback and analysis.

The advanced alarm triggering capability, combined with real-time transport stream capture, allows users to isolate intermittent problems with ease.

The Pod is available in three models: Pod-TSP100 (ASI/SPI/SMPTE-310), Pod-PSK110 (QPSK L-Band) and Pod-ATM155o (155Mbit/s fibre), and COFDM.

According to Nilesh Mandalia, Sales and Market Development Manager at Digi-Box.co.uk, Pods are selling like hot cakes.

The price point for the Pod makes it affordable tool for greater numbers of engineers and technicians to be issued with MPEG analysers The Pod is the only solution offering deliverable solutions for direct interfacing with QPSK L Band, ATM and COFDM signals in the ultra- portables marketplace.
