Compact device server for easy embedded networking
The Digi Connect ME is claimed to be the most powerful and customisable embedded networking solution available, as well as one of the smallest.
The addition of WPA and a driver for the Broadcom AirForce chipset makes it easy for embedded designers to use industry standard Wi-Fi technology to securely IP-enable their devices.
"The Cardbus/MiniPCI driver for the Broadcom chipsets makes it easy for customers to wirelessly network a diverse range of products including, printers, elevators, surveillance cameras, price checkers and more using our NET+ARM processors and NET+Works development environment", said Tim Counihan, Vice President of Marketing, NetSilicon products, Digi International.
"This integrated driver lets embedded engineers use the same NET+OS-based applications software for either wired or wireless networking".

"The relationship with Digi International opens the door for us to extend our leadership in Wi-Fi technology, increasing our presence in embedded markets like printers, projectors, and point-of-sale equipment", said Jeff Baer, Senior Marketing Manager, Broadcom.
"ODMs like Gemtek and Askey are producing millions of Cardbus and MiniPCI cards today based on our AirForce chipsets".
The NET+Works package runs across all Digi embedded platforms and includes the ThreadX real-time operating system (RTOS), device networking applications (web server, e-mail, FTP, Telnet, SNMPv3 etc), development tools (Green Hills Multi or Microcross Gnu), a target specific development board with BSP and a JTAG or software debugger in an easy-to-use, integrated solution.
NET+Works 6.3 adds the PCI/Cardbus driver for Broadcom's AirForce One chipsets along with WPA's temporal key (TKIP) encryption and secure authentication (PEAP with MS-CHAPv2).
The PCI/Cardbus interface is available on products based on NetSilicon's NS9750.
Digi's family of embedded products is designed to make device networking easy and provide a seamless migration path across hardware platforms.
This reduces design costs by allowing customers to get to market quickly and leverage previous software investment across multiple products.
