PXA270-based module hosts Windows CE 6.0

Production quality Triton-270/StarterKit-3 BSP for Microsoft Windows Embedded CE 6.0 coincides with the launch of the new OS on 1st November 2006.

1st November 2006 will see the availability of a production quality Triton-270/StarterKit-3 BSP for Microsoft's widely anticipated new operating system, Windows Embedded CE 6.0, to coincide with the launch of the new OS The tiny Triton-270 module, based on the Intel/Marvell PXA270 processor, already powers many handheld and industrial devices using Windows CE 5.0

Measuring just 68 x 31mm, and consuming under 500mW, the module provides a rapid route to market by combining ready-made cost-effective hardware with a complete, production ready board support package.

The addition of Windows Embedded CE 6.0 support will allow customers to begin to use Microsoft's latest OS version and tools straight away.

The new BSP also supports the StarterKit-3, which provides a complete development environment, and is supplied with schematics to facilitate the creation of a custom baseboard for production.

Modules are available equipped with 520 or 312MHz PXA270 devices, with up to 128Mbyte of low-power mobile SDRAM, and up to 64Mbyte of Intel P30 Flash.

Supported interfaces include Ethernet, VGA touch-screen, audio, MMC, SD card, USB host and device, RS232, SSP, camera, I2C and JTAG.
