Interface board supports 2Mpixel
autofocus
The base model of Triton-Cam is based on the Omnivision OV9653 1.3Mpixel fixed-focus CMOS image sensor and supports resolutions up to 1280 x 1024.
A multimedia interface (MI) board and complete camera solution for the PXA320-based StarterKit-4 is the latest solution in the Triton range of production-ready modules and associated development systems The new MI board provides an integral QVGA touch-screen display, as well as an interface for the Triton-Cam module

Support package aids mobile graphics development
Sophia Systems has released its Gold board support package based on Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 for Sandgate II development platforms running the Intel PXA270 processor and 2700G multimedia accelerator.
Because the MI board is directly wired to the PXA320's display controller and the touch input directly to the UCB1400 DAC, the display setup closely mimics a production solution and aids integration.
Triton-Cam features a range of camera resolutions including 1.3 and 2.0Mpixel autofocus.
Triton-Cam for PXA320 provides image capture support for both Windows CE and Linux.
A software bundle ships with the MI board, including driver support for Directshow display and a sample viewfinder application.
Source code is available to permit customisation for use with third-party sensors.
To transition to a module-based production solution, a custom baseboard is created which houses both the Triton processor module and the new camera module.
Based on modification of the supplied baseboard schematics and BSP (board support package), a platform can be created in a few weeks, ready for manufacture using the Triton and Triton-Cam modules.
The driver is also available in a form suitable for full-custom PXA320-based design-ins.
