A new low-power, subcompact single board computer features innovative design allowing it to be ordered in any one of four different configurations Manufactured by Aaeon, the new Gene-6320 is one of the first SBCs in the 3.5in FDD form factor to use either the Intel Celeron processor for ultralow-voltage fanless operation at 300MHz or the Intel Pentium III processor for low power at 700MHz

Besides having a choice of two processors, the innovative design of the Gene-6320 allows it to be ordered in one of four different configurations of integrated networking and audio facilities.

These encompass one Intel 82540EM Gigabit Ethernet controller port with audio, one Intel 82540EM Gigabit Ethernet controller port and one Intel 82551QM Fast Ethernet 10/100Base-T port (no audio), one Intel 82559ER Fast Ethernet 10/100Base-T port with audio and dual Intel 82559ER Fast Ethernet 10/100Base-T ports (no audio).

This diminutive board features excellent connectivity with the provision of integrated AGP-2X 2D/3D graphics acceleration, 24bit TTL and LVDS LCD support, NTSC/Pal TV output, Type II Compact Flash socket, two COM ports, one multimode parallel port, two USB ports and one IrDA port.

The Gene-6320 offers customers low power consumption, fanless operation and flexible features with more processing power, accelerated graphics and onboard networking.

These boards boast superior features, performance and expandability from the single board PCI-104 connector format yet require only a 5V DC input.

Their compact size (146 x 102mm) belies their power and this latest series of subcompact boards from Aaeon promises to fulfil the growing needs of the POS/POI, kiosk, networking appliance, multimedia, industrial automation, medical appliance, in-car computing and gaming markets for some years to come.
