The SBC has been specifically designed for embedded applications that require superior multimedia capability.

There are two versions of the board available.

The PCM-8200-A10 supports Intel Pentium/Celeron Mobile (Socket 479) processors at speeds of up to 1.6GHz giving a high performance solution.

The PCM-8200-A10-01 supports Low Voltage Pentium M processors at speeds up to 1GHz, offering low power consumption and low heat output.

The processor is complemented by Intel's 855GME and 6300ESB chipsets and up to 1Gbyte of DDR333 RAM allowing the PCM-8200 to provide excellent multimedia performance.

The board has dual-display capability with a TV-out interface that supports NTSC and Pal standards, and a 48bit dual channel LVDS TFT LCD interface.

The TV/CRT-out has a resolution of 1280 x 1024 at 32bit/pixel and the LVDS output has a resolution of 1280 x 1024 at 24bit/pixel.

The PCM-8200 can simultaneously display CRT/LCD, CRT/TV, LCD/DVI or CRT/DVI.

Audio 5.1 channel sound is also supported.

A host of connectivity options are incorporated on the board; these include four serial ports and two USB 2.0 ports.

Two serial ATA ports are included for mass storage drives, possibly the first time serial ATA slots have featured in an industrial board.

A parallel ATA port is also available.

10/100 LAN and Gigabit LAN are supported for networking, with the Ethernet controller automatically powering down when no signal is detected, saving power and ensuring the board maintains system performance without overheating.

Expansion of the board can be achieved using the PCI slot, and for low-profile expansion there is a mini-PCI slot, which can be easily expanded to allow wireless LAN.

The PCM-8200 is suitable for a wide range of applications that require high performance multimedia.

These applications include high-level POS, high-level kiosks, factory automation and control, gaming and military.

The SBC is compatible with form, fit and function of all of Aaeon's other compact board family, allowing it to easily replace obsolete boards, guaranteeing long product life and simplifying the upgrade process.
