The AEC-6850 combines a fanless, slim, rugged design with high performance to ensure it is the perfect solution for its intended primary role as a static or mobile, public multimedia control unit.

The AEC-6850 is packed with all the latest multimedia features, including dual screen support as standard via the integrated VGA, DVI and TV outputs.

Options include a TV tuner for video capture and a slot for a second VGA card.

A multiple drive bay is included for the inclusion of VCD and DVD drives, or for additional hard disc drives.

High-quality audio is integrated with ports for audio mic in, line in and line out/speaker out.

The Intel Celeron M 600MHz/1.3GHz processor is the powerhouse behind the AEC-6850, its high performance copes easily with the most demanding multimedia applications, while its low power consumption is ideal for transport applications and reliable operation.

Supporting the processor is up to 512Mbyte DDR RAM, which ensures superior multimedia performance.

The AEC-6850 uses a patented, high-efficiency, heat-conduction mechanism enabling it to operate without a fan, for noiseless, low-power operation.

Along with other members of the Boxer series the AEC-6850 offers vibration/shock protection, wide operating temperature and complete certification.

The range supports embedded operating systems such as Windows CE.net 4.2, Windows XP Embedded and Linux, as well as commercial versions of the Windows OS family straight from the box.

The AEC-6850 offers a raft of input/output options which include a six-in-one card reader, three USB2.0 ports, an RS232 port, a configurable RS232/422/485 port and an IEEE1394 port.

The unit can easily be expanded using the single Type II CompactFlash slot.

Communication with other units and the outside world is simple with the integrated 10/100Base-TX RJ45 connector.

The AEC-6850's features are packed into an 212 x 64 x 159mm rugged aluminium alloy chassis weighing only 2.5kg.
