Using the Dima Handytaper production engineers can easily package components into any type of tape.

The Handytaper is the latest component taping machine from Dima SMT Systems Sometimes components are provided in a tray, in bags or in a stick

However because of the volumes of these components used on a pick and place machine it would be preferable if the components were available on tape.

Using the Dima Handytaper production engineers can easily package components into any type of tape.

The Handytaper is a semi-automatic taping machine offering the ability to package up to 800 components per hour.

Using a fully programmable microprocessor provides the operator the ability to set the size of the tape cavity, the number of components to be taped and the speed of tape transport.

The Handytaper comes in two variations: one without a pick and place head and one with a pick and place head.

In case of components being supplied in stick, it is easy to fill the tape directly from the stick.

However if components are supplied in a tray or in a bag, the components need to be picked up and placed into the tape.

In that case the pick and place head allows trouble free placement of components into tape.

The pick and place head utilises the unique Dima Sensatip design.

The Sensatip pick and place head movement is extremely light and its ergonomic design ensures relaxed placement of components.

Vacuum is automatically switched on and off by simply touching the components with the nozzle.

Components that have been picked up can be rotated over 360 degrees.

The Handytaper has been designed to use the unique "cold seal" method of sealing the cover tape.

Therefore no heat or additional adhesive is needed to seal the cover tape.

The Handytaper can be used for 8 to 120mm tapes.

The placement of the components is done manually, however the tape transportation and sealing process is fully automatic.
