Distribution deal for LCD driver products covers 140 countries

Distributor Digi-Key Corporation has signed a global distribution agreement covering more than 140 countries with Amulet Technologies.

Amulet is a fabless semiconductor company specialising in integrated circuits (ICs) and firmware that drive liquid crystal displays (LCDs).

As the inventor of the Graphical Operating System in Silicon, Amulet has enabled OEMs to equip their electronic devices with visually appealing, interactive user interfaces that provide 24 x 7 reliability.

The Amulet chip is a combination LCD controller, dedicated microprocessor and graphics library, which offloads the burden of powering the GUI from the host embedded processor.

This technology enables developers to use more cost-effective micros in new and existing products.

Key vertical markets include white goods, medical devices, industrial controls, industrial and home automation, HVAC, consumer electronics, and test and measurement.

Digi-Key stocks Amulet starter kits, graphics ICs, modules, controller boards, software, and an assortment of accessories.

These products are described in Digi-Key's print and online catalogues and are available for purchase directly from Digi-Key, which currently ships to more than 140 countries.

This new distribution agreement with Amulet will enable Digi-Key to fulfill both the design and production quantity needs of its diverse customer base.

"The addition of Amulet to our line card further demonstrates Digi-Key's commitment to offer our customers world-class, innovative products", says Mark Larson, Digi-Key President and COO.

"We are very pleased to add this supplier partner to our roster and are certain Amulet's unique products will be of consequential interest and appeal to design engineers around the world".

"The opportunity to partner with such a well-respected international distributor is an exciting development for our company", stated Ken Klask, Amulet Technologies CEO.

"We have been increasingly expanding our focus and operations to include key international markets, and our partnership with Digi-Key provides us with the resources to effectively reach top design engineers and decision makers throughout the world".
