Kits combine SBCs with TFT displays
Display Technology (DT) has put together a range of low-cost single board computer "plug and play" kits combining TFT LCDs with SBCs.
These systems or "kits" consist of combined and co-ordinated components, as many as 10 depending on the application.
Display Technology is now offering kits for TFT LCDs ranging in size from 6.5 to 82in diagonal used in a wide variety of industrial applications as well as medical, ruggedised, marine and digital signage.
The kits typically include an Display Technology LCD, the appropriate IBase industrial SBC, matched BIOS, a backlight inverter and data interface cables with multiple operating system choices.
"IBase's wide range of industrial PC products allows us more than ever before to take customers' CPU/processor requirements and provide them with an SBC kit solution that is truly optimised for their application", says Display Technology Managing Director, Richard McKay.

The IBase component of the kits may be a CPU card (full-size, half-size or industrial backplane), industrial motherboard (Mini-ITX, ATX, Micro ATX or networking), disk-size SBC (5.25in, 3.5in or ECX), ETX (COM Express module, ETX CPU module or ETX baseboard), CompactPCI board, or PC/104 Plus module.
Using a unique modular system, Display Technology can combine these components in different ways, supplying cost-efficient standard kits as well as custom versions adapted to individual requirements.
Pricing for the kitted TFT LCD solutions varies depending on customer requirements.
For example, a standard kit including a 15in XGA LCD, IBase IB881 with Intel ULV CPU, matched BIOS, backlight inverter and data/inverter interface cables is priced at approximately US $650 in 1000-unit quantities.
